Raid Strategy - Getting your Resists Up
by Deathbeard
Having good resists can be vital for many raid encounters. For example, in The Council of Nine event, the Council members will cast an
AE curse that causes silence, 95% attack speed drop and 50% movement speed drop. But if your magic resist is high enough, it will never land.
The maximum resists possible are 625.
How to raise them:
- Gear. Don't skimp on resists.
A quick and easy boost is to get the top four DoN resist augs (two from each camp, and you can buy with any faction). Each aug has +12 to all resists.
- DoN Progression - Tier 5 adds an unknown amount to your chance to resist spells.
- MPG trials - +48 to all resist caps.
- AA's - Raise both resists and caps.
- Clickies (Example: The range item from Shyra with Form of Protection 3 that adds +30 to all) .
- Ancient Werewolf Skull/Skull of the Den Lord/The Skull of Den Lord Rabkan
This is a quest result from http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/quest.html?quest=3264 that gives +50 to all resists.
Its a lot of work, but for each of the 5 quest arcs, you 'll get a clicky with +50 to one resist line, so you'll get some good results before
its finished.
- Buffs
Enchanter Guard of Druzzil adds 75 MR.
Shaman Talisman of Tribunal adds 65 PR and 65 DR.
Druid Protection of Seasons adds 72 fire and 72 cold.
Necro Dead Men Floating adds 70 to PR.
Bard songs can give a huge boost if you can be in range.
Personal protection spells can also help. Silks get a shield spell which adds MR and HP (but doesn't stack with Shaman Focus).
