Catalysts Basics

If you are new to Catalysts or just need a refresher, here is some basic information that is elsewhere on the main site but not always easy to find.

Website

We do lots of our communicating through the website. It's not perfect, but I'm working on a new one. You'll need to make an ID on the website and fill out an application so I can get you on the DKP site.

To create an ID, click on Register on the top middle of the forums. Use your main toon name for your ID, otherwise I get confused. :P

To fill out an applications, click Apply to Catalysts on the left side of the main website.

Raiding

Raid days are Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday. Raid gathering and building of the raid starts at 5-5:15pm so raid can start at 6 p.m. PST. If you are going to be a piggy, you want to be logged on before that. Pigges are brought in the order they are in the piggy channel (with exceptions for needed classes) and full members first.

If you are online during raid time, you are expected to be at raid. If you don't want to raid, don't be online during raid time.

Make sure you read the Raid 101 document so you know how we run raids and how you are responsible for being prepared.

Attendance

There is no minimum raid attendance needed to stay in the guild. If you don't raid, then you don't get loot and you don't progress. If you are a trial member, then you need 50% raid attendance to come off of trial membership.

If you are going to be gone for an extended period of time, send Dagdas an email so we know where you are and she doesn't worry.

Piggies

If you are not flagged for a zone... make sure you log on early to get in the Catalysts piggy channel (catpiggy:oink). We will piggy people into the raid based on when they logged on... with exceptions for needed classes... then whether it is a Full Member... then Trial Members... then Bots/Alts. If you show up late to a raid, we will not pull out a person already in the raid. Coordinating piggies is a huge task, so bear with us and pay attention. When in piggy channel, don't ninja afk. If the person organizing the raid sends an invite twice and you don't take it... you go to the bottom of the list. We try to get everyone in we can. If you can't get in, you will still get credit for the raid if you were in the piggy channel and not afk during the setup of the raid.

Bots/Alts

Bots/Alts 55 and over can come into Catalysts, ask an officer for an invite. Your bots under level 55 go in Royal Order of Norrath (ROON). Ask Dagdas to arrange an invite.

Rules/Charter

You had to click through the rules and the charter to fill out an application, but if you need to reference them again they are on links on the left side of the main website.

DKP

Read the rules. If you still don't understand, ask Dagdas or any of the DKP officers. Stay off the DKP site during raids. It slows down the site and make doing the DKP miserable.

Make sure and check your attendance the day after raids. If you were left off the attendance, send an email to Dagdas with the mob and date. (Not an in-game email or tell or PM.) Sometimes people don't show up on the dumps from raids... linkdeads... SOE burps... We can't fix it if we don't know about it.

Epics

Some people whining and abusing us has forced us to mention this here. Yes, eventually Catalysts members will help you with your epic. But no organization wants you to come in and immediately want our energy on YOUR projects without you putting some energy into the organization. As a Trial Member, we don't even want to hear the word "epic" from you. After that, there is an Epic section of the website that you can't even see until you are a Full Member. Let us get to know you better before you start nagging for epic help. Ideally, you shouldn't say the word "epic" more than once a week or you'll find that people will not help you "just because."

Here is the leadership of Catalysts.
