After a well deserved break, we are raiding again beginning Saturday, September 27th. We took a vote and are going to Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturdays. If we decide we don’t like those days, we may vote again. The overwhelming winner was “Just Raid Dammit.” We’ll do some “knock the dust off” type raids then who knows what trouble we will get into.
Friends killing things together.
Catalysts

Catalysts did something unprecedented. We took the summer off. Many of us had a lot of real life going on and I was traveling a lot. Summer is usually a tough time in EQ anyways… so we took a summer break and plan on starting raiding again at the end of September. The naysayers predicted the demise of Catalysts because of our break but only a couple of people left. Our loyal and dedicated members stayed. Catalysts has always been different.
I still believe that grownups with real lives can raid. And a guild can play with honor and still win. If you believe too, see the Apply link to the left.

Everquest is struggling this summer. The larger guilds are raping the mid-level guilds for members. The mid-level guilds die out and the members don’t go to other guilds. They quit the game because their ingame family is ruined and the game is just never the same for them. This is bad for people and bad for Everquest. I see players mocking new players in OOCs which discourages new blood to the game. Everquest is a great game, but it is only as good as the people who play it. I remember how kind people were when I started the game in 2001. Losing my body at Orc Hill and some kind soul helping me find it… losing my body in Butcherblock… hmmm… there is a pattern there.... This game has become very difficult for new players. The only low-levels I see lately are toons being power-leveled up. Take a minute and pass on some of the kindness offered you in the beginning…
With that said, Catalysts is taking the summer off from raiding. We will start up again at the end of September.
Go play and enjoy the game again.

It has been a fun month of hunting Fabled mobs. But alas, all good things come to an end. I wanted to do a fast wrap up of our Fabled Season and shout a gratz to the winners of some 60+ pieces of Fabled gear that were collected over the month.
Our hunts took us through Luclin as well as Planes of Power. We cleared out SSRA four times, Lord Seru a few times, Rumblecrush, and a few others in Luclin. We also hit what we could find up and kill in Planes of Power including Sol Ro towers, Plane of Valor for a horrible bugged run on AD, Plane of Fire, and Plane of Torment. WTG guys and gratz to the loot winners!
It was a hoot, but time to get back to the business of progression and working on the Bat. As we have a upcoming planning meeting for the guild direction and focus for the Summer, I will update again in a few days. Until then, think Bat Hot Wings for Jinxh’s dinner!

Our Demi-Plane progression is moving right along, Saturday night we found ourselves easily handling Graniteclaw, The Sisters, Maggotmiser and one other aug mob (sorry forgot his name), flawlessly taking them all out before a late engage on The Hatchet. We had an early burp that kept us from clearing all the way through Hatchet in one night so we returned Sunday night and easily killed him with fresh batteries getting another piggy flag as well as all the loot from these farm mobs! Hatchet and below are officially farm status!
We then ventured back to Redfang for more learning and have seen progress, we expect to have Redfang corpse posted here very soon, getting Jinch his much desired batwing crunchies and be ready for more piggy flags and 2.5 farming in Tier 2.
Earlier last week we made a fast and easy Vule run, keying a few new members for DPOB.
We have also made a few new friends in the Cathouse. Welcome Banadorn, Reynaldo, Kikkr and Denok to the Cathouse; I hope you enjoy your stay here!
Today brought us some sad news, Kelladorn and Synovia have decided to check out EQ retirement, see you guys soon and don?t sell your toons! Seriously guys, good luck and you know where to find us if you decide retirement sucks! Also best of wishes to Paulo, sorry the schedule did not work out!
Catalysts members have also been very busy with MMM keying and Crystallos access, gratz to all the newly keyed members, we are starting to see some pretty nice loot come out of there.
While we are still working through the Demi-Plane we have begun to review future sights and goals and will be updating those very soon, gratz to all that have worked on TSS Ashengate factions quests, you guys are ahead of the game! More to be announced later.
Anyways, that?s about it for now, been a fun week and I am looking forward to the next week!

We took the week off of Demi Plane and did some back-flagging for upcoming Fabled PoP, plus some COA farming for fun on Tuesday and Wednesday allowing a full timer re-pop for Tier 1 Demi..
The weekend brought us back to the Demi Plane and on Saturday night, for the first time we handled Granite and the Sisters events with relative ease, getting Sisters closer to official farm status with our 2nd consecutive and 5th overall kills.
Sunday night we returned to our friend Hatchet to see if last week was a fluke, or had we truly learned how to beat this ugly, overgrown Grummus. It was not as smooth as we have seen, but we did manage to pull off the win missing two of our main tanks for about 90% of the event. Thanks for coming in at the end there Sasqwatch it definitely boosted our confidence. A huge shout out to Wilamx for stepping up to the plate and putting us in a position to win. At any rate, we made a few adjustments, including recovering from a partial wipe from a kite and managed to pull off the victory. Congratulations to Jinxh for his perseverance, and the entire Catalysts team for their ability to adjust on the fly. We cleared a path for Redfang this week!
Congratz to Wilamx on the back flag and a huge thank you to Lacidem for his selfless act of kindness in passing the flag to Wilamx.
This weekend showed us some accomplishments from our determination, paying attention, and the rewards of our recent recruiting activity. Things are definitely moving along and I suspect to see Tier 1 Demi on farm status soon.
Well done guys, see ya in tub!

We kited, we darted, we mezzed adds, and turned it all into the guild 1st Hatchet kill, getting Pickrelpete the guilds 1st Swiftcleave the Fleshcarver, gratz bud. It also brought us our 1st back-flag piece of many more to come now that we have a strat down that works for us!
More kills, flags and loot to come!
Next up, Refang!

We have this boy down…
Sunday, January 06, 2008
(Elmiki hasn’t figured out the control panel yet so I’m posting.) The sisters went down like… um… I won’t go there. Bottom line… Jinxh told us what to do… and they be dead.
We had a couple of false starts…
But we prevailed quickly.

As the guild continues it’s push into the DpoB, we took out both Emperor Draygun and Council of the Nine again. Jinxh delivered an excellent strategy and the guild performed at the levels of which we normally kill stuff with, precision! Way to go guys!
Also included in this past week’s kills we found Shyra and Bloodeye to complete our back-flag runs that were needed.
This brings the guilds focus to the Queen and Vule to complete our access and are well ahead of the guild stated goals of being in the DPoB by summer and if all goes well, we should be there very soon!
Also included in the past week was our normal COA clearings as well as Yar Li and Vish, not to mention more 2.0’s, including the guild 1st alt 2.0’s being handed out!
This week also saw us lose a long time family member and one of the servers premier raid leaders, Wondyen. Good luck out there bro, I hope your new home fits you well and they use your talents to the fullest.. The week also brought us a new officer and raid leader, welcome to hell Jinxh and would also like to thank Renamas and Duthin for stepping up their play and leadership skills.
We are still looking for a few key classes to fill our ranks, primarily in shammans, bards or DPS classes, if you are interested, talk to any of us on line and feel free to join us for a raid and see what the machine is all about.
With that, it’s been a fun week, let’s keep kicking arse, see ya in the DPoB soon!

In a rare event, like that Nordstrom Twice-Yearly Shoe Sale, Catalysts is opening recruiting for a short time. For certain classes and exceptional players, we will waive requirements except for level. We are a no-drama raiding guild for people with a real life, too. We raid four days a week: Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday at 6pm PST. We excel at working at mobs until we finesse the right strategy. If you want to raid and are interested, catch Dagdas, Yagar, Renamas/Seaggan or any officer in-game.
